I will explain later how you can not only rent but also own or partially own one of these lodges.

It was an incredible experience to stay there, and the dogs loved it too. Let me tell you more.

The Luxury Lodges

We must start with the lodges themselves. In this case it really is a question  of where would we like to start. The moment you walk through the door you get that ‘wow’ factor.

Your eyes are immediately drawn to the full height, panoramic glass frontage that overlooks the lake. I had to pinch myself to remember I was in Lancashire.

The view over the patio across the lake provides one aspect but then all that natural light comes in and brightens up the spacious lodge to give it a very special feel.

This was the open plan living room and kitchen area. It was huge and spacious, and felt so relaxing immediately.

If the big panoramic window doesn’t keep your gaze all through your visit then you can wind down after a full day exploring with the 86 inch 4K Smart TV whilst lounging on the incredibly comfortable sofas.

The kitchen has all you need too with all utensils, oven, microwave, huge fridge/freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher.

This open plan area is big enough but then it is time to discover the bedrooms. Looking around you do get the custom built feel of these lodges and the architecture in particular shows so much attention to detail.

Upstairs was a spacious king size bed double room with wonderful natural light coming through the skylights and windows. The en suite bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower is a dream.

That is only the start because downstairs you go through the back of the kitchen to 2 more bedrooms and bathrooms. The first being another king size bedroom with a lovely bathroom. The second a twin room with yet another walk-in shower in the en suite.

A whole family or group could enjoy these lodges and the luxury while maintaining privacy for all.

The sun was shining so I just had to enjoy the patio over the lake that had been tempting me since arrival.

Again, the huge space is abundant here on the wooden decking, along with chairs, table, sun loungers and yes, a top 6 seater hot tub. Glorious. And with that view over the lake too.

It is here you appreciate the way that all the lodges that circle the lake have complete privacy. Not one overlooks another in the way they are aligned so that your patio feels completely entirely yours alone.

Each lodge comes with parking space for 2 cars positioned right where you need to be. Oh yes, and there is an EV charging station, as well.

The Grounds

This gated development is a joy to walk even before you go exploring beyond. The road that circles and connects all the lodges is quiet and lovely to walk around.

The dog walks at sunrise and sunset were a joy. The lake reflected the colours of the sky gloriously.

Speaking of dog walks, there is a lovely path amongst the trees and wildlife on the grounds that was perfect for the dogs to run and explore. There are plenty of dog poop bins provided as well.

Not all lodges at Go Nest at Twin Lakes have been made available to those with dogs, but the ones that have are very dog friendly indeed.

Tranquillity? Yes, all of it: in the lodge, on the patio and around the grounds. I have not been this relaxed and comfortable in a while for sure.

Things To See And Do Nearby

As I have said, the lodges are situated just north of Carnforth, Lancashire. This means that in any direction you can explore some of my favourite areas in the UK.

Right on the doorstep you have Silverdale, known as one of the most beautiful and nature filled parts of the UK. I also have some favourite walks that are only minutes away from where the lodges are situated.

Walks

Warton Crag is literally only 5 minutes drive and is a great way to discover the local area and also get views from above.

Other great Silverdale walks in the locality:

Heading north now, you are a stone’s throw from the Lake District and we all know the treasures to be found there. Imagine a perfect day walking a mountain such as Coniston Old Man and then coming back to relax in this luxury by the lake.

To the east you are close to the wonderful Yorkshire Dales. Ingleborough and Ingleton are not far away for walks but why not take the time to explore the historic town of Kirkby Lonsdale?

Dining

There are so many options for dining in the area. Within 10 minutes walk from Twin Lakes you have Greenlands Farm Village with its farm shop. They will also deliver breakfast packs for you which is lovely. But one thing you must try from there is their wood fired pizza oven that is open from 11 am to 8 pm. The Farm Village is also great day out for young and old. Animals, food and play.

For a lovely dining experience you will also find the Longlands Hotel, a country inn and restaurant that again is walkable to in less than 10 minutes.

A very short drive to the village of Warton will bring you to a very unique place. The Old School Brewery. A brewery full of charm and great ales within an ancient barn at the foot of Warton Crag.

If out a little further afield in Kirkby Lonsadle and want a nice lunch then I would personally recommend that you experience the delights of Botanica.
