Another gloriously sunny weekend was here and it was time for another weekend festival with L.L. Bean. Countryfile Live was the destination, a huge event set in the wonderful grounds of Blenheim Palace.
Around 150,000 visitors descend on Countryfile Live over the long weekend and there was certainly lots on offer for the whole family! Arenas with dog and animal shows of many types. Presentations from the Countryfile presenters and others. Farming livestock to see and learn about.
It was so big that to walk around the whole place I needed a full day, and more! Stands upon stands from a whole wealth of names from local produce to bigger well known names. Food and drink? There was stacks of it, if you like it, it would have been there believe me.
Down past the riverside you could enter the wildlife zone. On the river was the opportunity to paddle board, canoe, fish, or relax in the sun. And on top of that there happened to Inspector Morse’s car, the Jaguar Mk II from the series.
Another aspect of farming was there in full show. Plenty of the machinery that help makes our food industry tick. Of course, us in the L.L. Bean team couldn’t resist a catalogue pose on one of the tractors.
In fact there was a lot of posing done by the L.L Bean team. From the Hulk pose on the Land Rover by Dom to comparing fine footwear between myself and Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen. I think I lost this one.
As I have stated earlier on these pages, L.L. Bean is a huge outdoor clothing company in the USA, based in Maine. Only some of us have heard of them on British shores and it is time to put that right. I use their kit because it is totally fit for purpose, the L.L. Bean boots started it all over a hundred years ago and they are sold in huge numbers even today. They certainly opened a lot of eyes to those that tried them on at the stand, becoming a big hit.
Of course they are so much more than duck boots. From extreme mountain clothing to fashionable outdoor shirts, from backpacks to strong tote bags that have been tested to over 200 kg, now that is strong. camping and outdoor kit of many types as well. Check out the L.L. Bean website and you will see what I mean, they do a whole lot of gear that has maintained a high quality and standard for what outdoor people really need.
These festivals we are attending this Summer with the popup shop is the first chance that you have been able to hands on in this way in UK and it has been a pleasure to have been a part of the experience. Lovely to see happy customers too.
Countryfile Live is not just family friendly but it is also extremely dog friendly. Many four legged friends popped by to say hello. Lots of treats flying around for sure and happy faces of those sporting the L.L. Bean bandanas 🙂
If you see us at any event you are attending this Summer please do come and say hi. I am personally doing smartphone photography workshops on the stand too so would be great to see you. Next stop Bristol Balloon Fiesta and then Edinburgh Festival.
All the family can take on the challenge of our climbing wall too. Look, even Tom Heap managed it in his new L.L. Bean Boots.
What a great weekend. Great people, great kit, great laughs and too much food and drink 😉 See you in Bristol.
