There is a part of Wiltshire where history doesn’t just sit in museums; it surrounds you on every path. This November, join us for a unique BaldHiker retreat in the historic town of Amesbury.
Known as the oldest continuously occupied settlement in Britain, it is the perfect base for our weekend of walks, culture, and great company.
This is not a trip about rushing between tourist hotspots; it is an invitation to slow down, step back in time, and enjoy the crisp autumn air.
We will be basing ourselves at the wonderful Fairlawn House – A Little Place, right in the heart of the town, allowing us to connect with both nature and like-minded people in true BaldHiker style.
Walks Through Ancient Landscapes
Our journey will take us through a landscape rich with incredible history.
We will trace ancient paths, from the soaring medieval spire of Salisbury Cathedral to the sweeping earthworks of Old Sarum.
The walks are designed to be a joy, not a race, nor a huge trek, culminating in a very special route straight from our accommodation directly to the iconic stones of Stonehenge.
The Taste of Local Hospitality
A true retreat is also about the time spent together over good food and a few laughs.
Throughout the weekend, we will savour fantastic local hospitality, from welcome prosecco and dining at our Boutique Hotel to a wonderful 3-course meal at the historic New Inn.
It is a small-group adventure designed to feel like a journey with friends.
