What to Expect on the Day

The Route:

Starting from the wonderfully named Billa Barra near Coalville we make our way across country to Newtown Linford where we shall have our first cafe stop.

We will have already been on the summit of Hill Hole above Markfield.

After a cuppa we walk up through Bradgate Park to the top at Old John Tower. The first of the 3 Peaks.

Then we make our way via woodland and the village of Woodhouse Eaves to the next summit. Beacon Hill, with views for miles towards Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.

More cross country now until our next cafe stop, or some lovely cake too.

Then we wander through ancient woodland before climbing to the highest point in Leicestershire. The top of Bardon Hill.

From here we descent and out back to Billa Barra and well deserved cheer.

At the end you will be able to say you did all these 5 summits in one great day.

What Our Hikers Say

  • I would definitely recommend the BaldHiker

I have enjoyed a number of hikes with the BaldHiker and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Paul engages with participants throughout, and I have come away from each hike, not only with a sense of achievement but having made new friends.
