What to Expect on the Day

The Route:

Our route follows the diverse and ever-changing shoreline, offering an incredible variety of terrain.

You’ll journey through ancient oak woodlands, across well-maintained lakeside paths, and along quiet country lanes, with the magnificent fells of Skiddaw, Catbells, and Walla Crag providing a dramatic backdrop throughout.

We will make stops at key viewpoints, including the famous Friar’s Crag—a spot John Ruskin called one of the finest in Europe—allowing you plenty of time for photos and to simply absorb the tranquil atmosphere of this special place.

Walking with a guide transforms a great walk into an extraordinary one. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the area as we share insights into its unique geology, rich history, and the literary figures like Beatrix Potter who were inspired by these very views.

What’s Included:

A full day of guiding by an experienced walking guide. From beginning to end your safety, happiness and sense of fulfilment is paramount to us.

Our walks are paced to be enjoyable, not a race, creating a relaxed and sociable atmosphere perfect for solo walkers, couples, and small groups of friends. We ensure your safety and comfort, so you can relax and enjoy the journey with complete peace of mind.

What Our Hikers Say

  • I would definitely recommend the BaldHiker
