A Devon Escape To Teignmouth At Sea Breeze
Don’t know about you, dear reader, but I do love a holiday that does exactly what it says on the…
The county of Devon is in south west England and is well known for its beautiful sandy beaches, and fossils along the Jurassic coast and cliffs. The southwest coast path provides stunning views and excellent walks.
This county is also known as the British Riviera and in some places palm trees can be found. A popular destination for tourists and fossil hunters alike, inland Devon carries its own natural beauty spots. Hiking the moors of Bodmin or camping and walking at Dartmoor are all perfect activities for holidays and tourism, whether you’re looking to explore and enjoy the rugged landscape on foot or take a road trip to historic locations.
There’s beauty and history with plenty of inspiring places to visit including the areas that inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles.’
Postbridge is another historic location worth a visit. You may choose to walk to one of the Tors on Dartmoor or check out the Clapper Bridge, a Grade ll listed structure.
Hiking the many Tors in Dartmoor, you’ll see ancient stone circles and burial mounds, forests and tracks throughout this beautiful national park where ponies run freely.
For cycling ideas in Devon, The Granite Way is an 11-mile stretch of cycleway that links the town of Okehampton to Lydford Gorge. The route is mostly off road and passes along some of the Dartmoor National Park.
Devon is a truly a great place for all kinds of activities and stunning scenery for all.
