- For the cake
6 oz Self Raising Flour
2 oz Plain Flour
6 oz Caster Sugar
6 oz Margarine
3 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- For the Filling
125 g Butter
250 g Icing Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
Small punnet of strawberries
Directions
- Line your cake tin
- Mix together your butter and caster sugar
- Add a little egg and a little flour and stir in – keep adding until all blended in
- Add your vanilla essence
- Place mixture into your cake tin and place in the oven at 160 degrees for 45 mins-1 hour
- leave to cool
- Mix together your icing sugar, butter and vanilla essence
- Cut the cake in half and pipe or layer on some butter cream onto the bottom layer
- Slice your strawberries and place them evenly around the buttercream
- Place the top half onto the cake
- Again pipe on your buttercream onto the top of the cake and add your blueberries in the shape of a heart and some sliced strawberries on top
Notes
- You can substitute the buttercream for real cream but please remember that you will need to refrigerate the cake after doing so.
