Way back, when I was a lad, diaries were kept by many to keep a log of daily activities and events. Written down into little books to help trigger memories years later or to simply record their lives. But times change… Enter the modern world of social media and smartphones… and lifelogging!
What if you get the places you have been, your social media activities, your fitness workouts, the music you listened to, all compiled by your smartphone for you, with data, traits, tips and graphs? And most of it done automatically without you having to lift a finger? Well over the past few weeks I have started using the Saga app that quite honestly does that. And my partnership with them will see me hiking, travelling and sharing my life with my followers there over the coming time.
Unlike in the past where you have to go physically into the various apps to check into a place etc, the app is working behind the scenes recording all for you. So say off I travel out to hike to a waterfall for instance… I may not go in the app all day but when I return I look and it has recorded everything for me. How far I drove, what average speed, where I started walking also with speed shown, and it has known that I was at the waterfall as a check in. All with maps. You can even add a picture as a memory of that moment. Wherever you go, whatever you do, the app keeps recording what you have set it to.
Followers can follow your lifelog and see what you are up to, and you can follow your friends, but, privacy is key. All is default to private, your own personal lifelog. You can then choose as and when, what things you did wish to make public. What’s more is that you can choose a length of delay. When you decide to make a place you’re at public this will not be shown until the hours of delay you’ve chosen after you have left.
Add in your fitness, social media apps, and more, and let the Saga app include them in your log of your life. You may of course follow my lifelog as I go over hills, up mountains, see the sights, around Britain and abroad.
