The snow had fallen on the Peaks all around, the Pennines and the Cumbrian fells. A wonderful backdrop for a wonderful weekend away to one of my favourite places, Appleby Castle. As I have shown in a previous post, the castle is a unique and super place to stay in Cumbria, full of history, full of character. I decided to take my drone on this weekend to get more unique views and clips….
Walking the grounds of the castle is perfect for unwinding, I shall show you more in a future post. Rows of yew trees, red squirrels scurrying around, riverside paths and tremendous views over the town of Appleby itself.
That is not forgetting the stunning backdrop from the hills and mountains of 2 of my favourite stomping grounds. The Lake District and the Northern Pennines.
Anyone that knows me will be aware that I love to get up early enough for the sunrise. And Appleby Castle has some fantastic ones. Always worth it.
Sunsets aren’t to shabby either I can tell you. I will be back up there again soon and will be showing yet another side to this fantastic building in a fantastic location. See ya up there 🙂
