Marble Hill House was the venue for me last week, and a venue for a special day indeed! The House Festival was taking place and I had been very kindly invited by Samsung and Three to experience it. The House Festival felt immediately from the outset a very different and superb experience. Non stop sunshine, food, drink and great music? Not only that I had the opportunity to document it using the Samsung Galaxy S8. I was in my element.
As far as festivals go this one has a real sense of charm, fun, politeness and has so much going on. People may look at the ticket admission prices but once in you have no need for a further penny at all. Lobster, burger, pies, salads… in fact any kind of top cuisine you can imagine can be found in the large array of tentage. Drink? Drink to your heart’s content. Music? Massive names playing right before you as you enjoy a picnic on the grass.
There was a funfair, a massage tent, and if I had hair I could have had my hair done. All whilst celeb spotting. Put it this way apart from the acts, you see a great number of known names whilst enjoying all around you. In just my first hour or so there I saw James Corden, Jack Whitehall, Jo Whiley, Lisa Snowden and much more. It does show what a draw this polite and fun festival is. The sun shining made it oh so much better 🙂
Feasted, drink in hand it was music time. The late afternoon was perfectly captured with sets from top acts currently in the charts. Rag’n’Bone Man nailed a great set together with the late afternoon sun, yes, he is as good live as you have heard if not better! Then to follow that a change of genre and party time with Sean Paul.
The festival was buzzing and these pics were coming out really well to say I was just using the Galaxy S8, and what’s more I was using zoom a lot too! Can imagine me leaving the main camera at home a lot more in future and just having my phone in pocket for a lot of my travel photo needs.
Time for more food, more drink, more laughs, more meeting interesting people and then back to the music. Craig David smashed it, in fact he really did get the whole place dancing and singing. I wandered over to the other tent away from the main stage and watched the set by Oh Wonder. A great sound.
As the sun set and the party reached the climax it was time for Erasure. A blast from my youth and it felt everyone new every word to every song. What a day, thank you again to my hosts. A fantastic day with wonderful memories!
