It is that time of year were the signs of summer pops up all over my social media streams. Pictures from many talented and good friends that capture that moment in nature bringing good moods and smiles to all whom happen upon them. Paddy Hinton I have seen has been busy with a passion for all things small and nature filled. I was honoured she would share some of this passion and thoughts here.

From The Desk of Paddy Hinton

I have a passion for growing flowers, photographing their beauty, be it just the edge, a touch, a whisper or inside them, when insects land on my flowers it turns the picture into something quite different … but the sun, mist any weather adds the feeling, the early morning light is when you find me out and about with my camera, nothing like low light through the flowers adds a dreamy look …

The hover fly sitting on the Anemone (see main image) in the early morning, I was in the stream weeding the Alpine flower bank, a chance photograph luckily my camera was not far away, I’ve learnt when I’m in the garden my camera comes with me … you never know what your day holds.

I’m plant mad; growing alpines is my real joy but any plants, so when I found the butterfly resting on my new Gladioli this was a real treat, we had a great photo session.
