A day to rest the feet a little and catch a boat for a different kind of adventure. Time to see a bit of Tenerife…. from the waters surrounding it. All aboard and along the coast we went, west and north. Then, before our eyes came a dramatic sight, the giant cliffs of Los Gigantes! Sheer cliff faces rising out of the sea, rising 500 – 800 m in parts. Necks were straining I can tell you.
A little further on came a memory of yesterdays hike, the bay of Masca, I had walked down the ravine to where it lay, now it was time to see it from out on the waters at its wonder. On the boat we had a treat here, the back of the boat opened, a waterfall started flowing from the top of the boat and we got a chance to jump into the blue water and swim with the fishes. The boat also had a glass bottom so the fish could be enjoyed whilst sat inside too.
After drying off it was engines on and out on a dolphin safari. Many have seen dolphins entertaining in parks and zoos but to see them swimming around wild and free in their groups was mesmerising. A big treat was to see a baby one keeping close to its mother. Great memories.
This boat trip is available to all in the southern resorts and I highly recommend it. You can book through most hotel receptions and a coach will pick you up and drop you off. Enjoy.
