Wandering Above England – Scafell Pike

Wandering Above England – Scafell Pike

Roughness and ruggedness are the necessary attributes to make a mountain and the Pike has these in greater measure than any other high ground in the country – which is just as it should be, for there is no higher ground than this – A Wainwright

Rugged? Yes. The most glamorous? Not necessarily.  But something keeps drawing me back time and time again to the highest mountain in England.. Scafell Pike

Set in the centre of the lake District this mountain has just about everything from any start point you choose.  Rocky scrambles, steep inclines, waterways, and most importantly great views.

As you will see from the video below this is another great mountain for strolling up in each season.  The views can change dramatically from in the sun and to the snow and rain.  Most enjoyable. Many an hour I’ve spent wandering here either with great friends or alone in tranquility. Enjoy it if you get chance.

Did this one last year – and concur that it's a beautiful area – even when the sun isn't shining.
